Update

Jessie Rempel (my mom) is back at home, the doctor sent her home because she was to week for the by pass. They gave her some heart medicine and put her on the nitro patch, she still needs four surgeries, but they will not do any until she is strong enough. For now she is on two types of dialysis. Most people are on only one type of dialysis. My mom is what they call a rare case.

One type is called peritoneal and the other one is called hemo. The hemo goes into two tubes that are in her neck and the other one is a liquid that my mom puts in a tube that is in her lower abdomen. The liquid fill the cavity of the bowel, she has to have a machine that puts the liquid in at nights, then it drains the liquid, by morning my mom has fresh liquid inside, this works like a kidney. After nine hours she drains the liquid and replaces it with fresh liquid, at bed time she hooks herself up to her machine. The hemo is done one to two times a week at the hospital. That is when she is hooked up to the machine that cleans the blood. Without the two machines my mom would die. The problem with the hemo machine is they have to make new veins after so my times, she needs a kidney to be able to get off the machines.

My aunt still has not come forward to be tested. Her reason is she is afraid of having surgery. I myself have already talked to my doctor. He told me I could not give a kidney because my kidneys bleed. If my mom has someone willing to give her a kidney, she would not have to go through all this. Her body is shutting down, everyday my rage grows stronger because my aunt could at least be tested. She is my mom’s only hope right now. The list for a kidney if you do not have someone is five to ten years waiting list.

I have sent out e-mails to friends, and strangers, looking for someone who is willing to give a kidney. I have had no luck yet. The people in my family who are willing to be tested have been denied, do to medical problems or because they are to young. There are Some of the family member that could be tested they just will not be tested.

These are the people who would help my mom but can not. One my dad but he has heart problems. My husband has been on prednisone for over 15 years. My daughter I would never ask because she has kidney problems and is only 13 years old. My cousen Anny from my uncle side has been having medical problems. So she was told that she was out too. Even my grandmother has asked but she is 80 years old and not very healthy. These people I would like to thank for at least trying.
