Oliver Has a lot of beauty

Oliver Has a lot of beauty

Oliver is a beautiful place, but it will not be for long. The orchards are disappearing because of grape vines. Animals are losing their homes because everyone needs more grapes. Because they want more grapes, they are trapping birds and killing them. Their main target is the starling.

Well the falcons eats starlings and the starlings eat the Mosquitoes. Mosquitoes spread the west Nile virus. Are grapes really worth it. Is it worth destroying the forest and animals around us so they can make their wine.

That way Oliver can be the wine capital. I drink wine once in awhile. I would give it up to stop what is happening.

BC is know for it beauty and animals. Soon that will be no more. BC is also known for its hunting which I also do not agree with.

Between hunting and grapes, the animals do not have a prayer to survive. If we manage to put the starling on the endanger list. We will end up with a greater chance of getting the west Nile virus. If that does not kill us, all the chemicals that they spray will.

People keep talking about what you can do to help our environment Well we need nature of the land to help us, because with out nature we are just doing more damage.

Nature can take care of its self with out the help of humans if we give it a chance. If we work with nature we might be able to slow down the damage. We have to stop tearing down the forest and replacing them with grapes. We need to stop using so much chemicals. We all need to be aware of our earth and the creatures we share it with.

I know when we first moved here we would go for drives and look at the beauty around us, but now it is all disappearing. Some day I hope that people will open their eyes all around the world, and see what is happening around them. Oliver is my home now and I can see what is happening and I wish I could stop it. We do our best. We do not use chemicals in our garden, we grow sunflowers for the birds because they eat the seeds as well as the bugs. So we work together. We have plants in our garden that invites the good bugs so they can eat the bad bugs.

People who have visited our site have seen our garden and how beautiful it is. That is why are garden looks this way, it does because we work together with nature. We do not us chemicals, we us all natural fertilisers.
